How it works

Flowjin lets you fully customize your caption styling and save your designs as reusable presets. This ensures consistent branding across all your video content.

Selecting the Caption Layer

Before editing captions, select the caption layer: Option 1: Click directly on the captions in the preview Option 2: Open the Layers tab and click on the caption layer Once selected, you can customize all caption properties.

Changing the Font

  1. With caption layer selected, find the font options
  2. Choose your preferred font (e.g., Open Sans)
  3. Adjust the size as needed

Adjusting Caption Position

  1. Drag the caption to your desired position
  2. Resize by dragging the corners
  3. Center or align as needed for your layout

Changing Highlighted Word Colors

To customize the color of emphasized words:
  1. Click “Animations” in the menu
  2. Select “Color”
  3. Choose your brand color (e.g., orange, blue)
This changes the color of highlighted words that appear during the video.

Using Shapes with Captions

Combine shapes with captions to hide unwanted elements or add visual interest:
  1. Click “Shape” in the right-side menu
  2. Select and position your shape
  3. Resize to fit your design
  4. Drag the caption on top of the shape
  5. Extend the shape across the timeline
Pro tip: Use shapes to hide Zoom timers or other screen elements while keeping captions visible.

Saving Caption Presets

Once you’ve designed captions you like:
  1. Click the style option in the menu
  2. Select “Save as Preset”
  3. Name your preset for easy identification
Your caption style is now saved for future use.

Accessing Your Presets

To use saved caption styles:
  1. Click “Style” in the caption menu
  2. Browse your saved presets
  3. Click to apply instantly to any clip
