Flowjin automatically transforms your long-form video and audio content into engaging social media clips. This guide walks you through the entire process from upload to publishing.

Getting Started

Visit flowjin.com and sign up for an account. After signing up, you’ll land on your dashboard where you can begin importing content.

Importing Your Content

Upload your video or audio files directly to Flowjin. We support multiple import sources - check our documentation for the complete list of supported formats and platforms.

Creating Clips with AI

Once your content is uploaded, click on your project to access the clipping menu. Here’s how to configure your AI clipping: Language Selection: Set the language of your content (e.g., English) Clip Length: Choose your preferred clip duration. The default setting works for most content, but you can select “up to 3 minutes” for longer clips. Timeframe Processing: Save credits by trimming sections you don’t need processed. Remove intros, outros, or any non-clickworthy segments. For example, if you know the first and last two minutes contain only greetings, trim those sections before processing. Click “Start Clipping” and Flowjin will analyze your content and generate clips, quotes, and text assets for your social media.

Reviewing Your Clips

After processing completes, you’ll see your generated clips along with quotes and text assets. Preview each clip to determine if it’s ready to publish or needs editing.

Editing Your Clips

Click “Edit” on any clip to access our video editing environment. The editor has three main sections:
  • The video preview
  • The transcript panel
  • The timeline

Adjusting Clip Content

Click “Edit Clip” to modify which segments appear in your clip. In the full transcript on the left, highlighted sentences indicate content included in the clip. To remove content: Drag to select the highlighted text you want to remove, then click the remove option that appears. To add content: Drag to select any unhighlighted text and click “Add to Clip.” To find specific moments: Use the search button to locate keywords throughout your transcript. This helps you center clips around specific concepts or add relevant segments. Click “Update Clip” to apply your changes.

Editing Captions

Correct any transcription errors by clicking on words in the transcript:
  1. Click “Edit” on the word
  2. Make your corrections
  3. Click the X button to confirm
To hide captions for specific words while keeping the audio, click on the word and select “Hide Caption.”

Adjusting Scene Framing

Flowjin’s AI automatically crops and frames your video. To customize: Change layout: Hover over a scene and click “Edit Scene,” then choose your preferred layout (split screen, full frame, etc.). Split screen is ideal for adding images or footage below while keeping the speaker visible above. Adjust cropping: Click “Edit Scene” > “Crop” to reposition or zoom the frame. Use the “Original” button to display the full speaker in landscape format.

Adding Visual Elements

Shapes

  1. Click “Shape” in the right-side menu
  2. Select your shape
  3. Resize and position it on the frame
  4. Extend it across the timeline to cover the entire video duration
Shapes are useful for covering unwanted elements like Zoom timers or adding color blocks behind captions.

Frames and Logos

Custom frames: Upload images created in tools like Canva, then use “Center to Canvas” and “Cover Canvas” to position them properly. Logos: Add your logo, position it where desired, and extend it across the timeline.

AI-Generated B-Roll

Click “Create B-Roll Videos” to have AI automatically find relevant footage for your content. The AI analyzes your video and adds appropriate visual elements. To customize B-roll:
  • Click on any footage to add animations (fade in/out, etc.)
  • Apply animation settings to all B-roll clips at once

Manual B-Roll

  1. Find the moment in your transcript where you want to add footage
  2. Click to position the playhead at that moment
  3. Open the Video Library from the side panel
  4. Search for relevant footage
  5. Drag and resize the video as needed

Text and Titles

Creating Branded Captions

  1. Select the caption layer from the layers tab
  2. Customize the font and colors
  3. Change highlighted word colors through Animations > Color
  4. Save as a preset by clicking the style option
Access your saved presets anytime from the Style menu.

Animated Titles

  1. Click “Text Layers” and choose a preset
  2. Position and resize your title
  3. Set the duration by adjusting its length in the timeline
  4. Add entrance and exit animations (slide, fade, etc.)
  5. Customize animation direction (left to right, etc.)

Lower Thirds

Add speaker information with lower thirds:
  1. Add a text layer when a new speaker appears
  2. Enter the name and title
  3. Position and align the text
  4. Set the display duration (typically 5-10 seconds)
  5. Add slide-in and fade-out animations
Save designed titles as presets for future use by clicking the three dots > “Save Preset.”

Animations

Add animations to make your videos more engaging. The following layers support animations:
  • Text
  • Captions
  • Shapes
  • Video layers (B-roll)
To add animations:
  1. Click the layer in the timeline
  2. Click “Animation”
  3. Select entrance (in) and exit (out) animations
  4. Adjust additional settings like direction and duration

Exporting and Publishing

When your clip is ready, you have two options:

Direct Download

  1. Go to your projects page
  2. Click on the clip
  3. Click “Export”
  4. Choose your quality and download

Publish to Social Media

  1. Click “Export” on your clip
  2. Click “Publish on Social”
  3. Connect your social accounts (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, YouTube, etc.)
  4. Review the AI-generated, platform-specific caption
  5. Choose to publish now or schedule for later
  6. Click “Publish” or “Schedule”
Flowjin automatically generates optimized captions for each platform. Track all your published content in the Activity tab, which shows what clips have been posted and where.
