# Create Animated Lower Thirds

Add professional lower thirds when new speakers appear in your clips. Display names and titles with smooth entrance and exit animations for a polished look.

## How it works

Lower thirds are text overlays that identify speakers by displaying their name and title. They typically appear in the lower portion of the screen when someone new enters the video.

## Creating Lower Thirds

To add a lower third for a speaker:

1. Position the playhead when the speaker first appears
2. Click "Text Layers" and choose a preset
3. Enter the speaker's name
4. Resize and position the text (typically lower left or right)
5. Adjust text alignment (left, center, or right)

### Adding the Title Line

Create a second text layer for their role:

1. Add another text layer below the name
2. Enter their title (e.g., "CEO at Awesome Marriage")
3. Match the positioning and alignment with the name
4. Ensure both text layers are aligned properly

## Setting Duration

Control how long the lower third appears:

1. Adjust the text layers in the timeline
2. Typical duration: 5-10 seconds
3. Long enough to read, but not distracting
